About Crochet Baby Gifts
Crochet Baby Gifts is a reference site for people giving or making handmade baby gifts. It publishes size charts, yarn guides, care instructions and gifting advice — the practical things you need to look up, gathered in one place and checked.
What this site publishes
- Reference charts. Blanket sizes, yarn weights, hook conversions, baby measurements. The kind of thing you need once and cannot find quickly.
- Yarn and materials guides. What to buy for a baby item, and why fibre matters more than brand.
- Care and safety. How to wash a handmade blanket, how to store a keepsake, and what current infant safe-sleep guidance actually says about loose blankets.
- Gifting advice. What to give, how to present it, what to write on the tag.
- Beginner explainers. Plain answers to the questions people ask before they start.
Two things this site does not do
It publishes a few simple patterns, never anyone else’s. The patterns here are plain constructions, such as a single-crochet zip case, written to measurements rather than stitch counts so they work at your gauge. Where a pattern has not yet been test-made, the page says so. Reproducing another designer’s pattern text or photographs is copyright infringement, and this site does not do it.
How the content is made
Articles are drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed by a human before publication. Every number in a chart traces back to a real, checkable source — a published standard, a regulation, or a measurement — and where a figure is an estimate, the page says so and says what it is based on. Where something genuinely cannot be pinned down, the page says that too, rather than inventing a confident answer.
That last part is the actual editorial position of this site. Most craft reference content presents convention as if it were standard. Blanket “standard sizes” are a convention; yarn weights genuinely are a standard. Knowing which is which is useful, and almost nobody says it.
The full policy is on the editorial policy page.
